Solang Valley
Location: 13 kms from Manali between Beas Kund and Solang village.
Best month to visit: December – February
A perfect place for winter sports, Solang Valley offers a picturesque view of snow-capped mountains and glaciers. The Atal Bihari Institute of Mountaineering and Allied Sports located in the valley offers training to tourists. It is known for hosting the winter skiing festival attracting huge crowds of snow and ski lovers. In the summer months also, there are adventure sports like paragliding, horse riding, zorbing and parachuting.
Hidimba Devi Temple
Location: 2.5 – 3 kms from Manali Bus stop, few minutes walking distance from old Manali
Visiting Time: Open all 7 days of the week from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Located inside the Dhoongri forest, the Hidimba temple is also known as Dhoongri Temple. Dedicated to Hidimba, the wife of Bhima, the titan pandava brother, the temple is surrounded by large deodar trees. The Pagoda shaped roof has four tiers with legendary figurines and symbols engrained in the door way. 70 mts. away from the temple, there is a Shrine dedicated to Ghatotkacha, the son of Hidimba and Bhima.
The three day, Hidimba festival celebrated during May attracts numerous devotees from across the world and is the best time to visit.
Rohtang Pass
Location 51 kms from Manali on the Keylong/Leh highway
Best time to visit May/June to October/November
The passage to Pangi, Lahaul, Spiti and Leh Valley, Rohtang pass offers both beauty of nature and adventure. The enthralling view of glaciers, snow covered mountain peaks is complimented by exciting activities like skiing, snow scooter and mountain biking.
Manikaran
Location 85 kms from Manali and 45 kms from Bhuntar
Best Time to Visit March to May
Situated at a height of nearly 5700 ft. above sea level, Manikaran is visited by tourists for the famous Gurudwara and various Hindu temples and also to bathe in the hot water springs. Known to possess curative properties, people often take a dip in these springs to ward off their sins and diseases.
Gulaba
Location 6 km away from Rohtang/4000 m above sea level

Covered with snow almost throughout the year, Gulaba is a village near Rohtang. During the harsh winter months from November to almost May, Rohtang is closed. At such time, Gulaba offers all the adventure of winter sports with its fine slopes.
