Niagara Falls, Ontario

Located on the western bank of the Niagara River, in Ontario, Niagara Falls is a city whose Municipality was incorporated in 1903. The city shares its name with the famous Niagara Falls which are in fact three waterfalls on the Niagara river. Of these two are on the American side while the largest, the Horseshoe waterfalls is on the Canadian side. This city has majority of Christian people and English, French are the popular languages here. This city offers its tourists and locals some very interesting events like visual arts, arts performances, music, museums, parks, gardens, festivals and Niagara fall tours. Though spending time in front or around the falls is the most preferred thing you would like to do, but the other offerings of the city like the lake, casinos and museum are also a class apart and definitely worth a visit!

Climate: Humid continental climate, November-March is extremely cold requiring warm clothes while April and October are mildly cold. However, in June-August, the temperature is slightly acceptable but you may require rain gear or dry clothes to change, when you go to visit the falls due to the heavy mist present around them.

By Train: The Train Station at Niagara Falls, 4267 Bridge Street has VIA Rail services with two trains daily from Union Station, Toronto

Bridal Veil Falls (between Luna Island and Goat Island) mid left

Canadian Falls (between Goat Island and Table Rock) right

How to reach: From Toranto: Take the QEW Highway Hamilton and St. Catharines.

Earlier known as the scenic tunnels, Journey Behind the Falls is a round the year attraction located behind the Canadian Horseshoe Fall. It offers an exceptional view of the Falls from the back and below. It has two observation decks and two portals located behind the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. The portals and platforms are reached by elevators that travel 150 feet downwards through bedrock leading to tunnels connecting to the Portals. From here the visitors can go to the outdoor decks. To prevent the visitors from getting wet, raincoats are provided.

It is an awesome experience where you get to watch nearly 2800 cubic meters of fresh water crash down every second at a speed of 65 km an hour. Don’t forget to carry your waterproof cameras!

Opened in 1961, Marine Land is an aquatic themed park displaying world’s largest collection of beluga whales. You can also enjoy incredible performances by dolphins and walruses as well as watch killer whales closely. Besides there are many land animals to see. Also, there are several fun filled rides, sky screamer and other attractions. You can easily spend a whole day here, so just wear comfortable shoes and enjoy a fun-filled day!

Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory

Location: Niagara Pkwy, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada

Opened on December 1996, this conservatory is the home to the 2,000 colorful tropical butterflies flying among lush, exquisite blossoms and plants. On a magical journey, you can wind on a path that takes you through rainforest settings, walk beside a pond and also enjoy a waterfall. On the 180 meter path, you can also see the emergence window, where the butterflies leave their pupae. A short informative video at the beginning of the tour guides you about the conservatory and butterflies.

Opened in 2006 this Ontario based water park is located directly across the Niagara Falls. It provides sixteen waterslides, themed play areas like Atlantic, indoor wave pool, six swimming pool, jungle theme beach for kids, beach club style restaurant and bar. The temperature is warm enough for you to enjoy the water slides. The Tidal Wave Pool is a great fun and The Horseshoe Hot Springs only for adults helps you relax and enjoy peace and tranquility.
